Mid 1978, Johanna Wanyeki a top gospel artist then, featured Elizabeth Nyambere in his gospel album which would spur her to venture into gospel sphere an inverse world of the flourishing secular music.

By 1982, Nyambere was already rooted into gospel industry sourcing inspiration from Julia Lucy and Milkah Muthoni; In a classic turn of events, Nyambere’s main influencer Johanna Wanyeki now better known as J.J Muoni had enough of gospel hymns and rebranded himself ready storm benga industry with his Ng’arua Boys Band.
Elizabeth Nyambere was born in Kangema deep into Gikuyuland of Murang’a; she hails from the same locality with legends of Kikuyu music industry such as Joseph Kamaru and Margaret Waitherero amongst others.
She started her formal studies at Ihiga Primary School where she learnt of her talent in music which was inclined to gospel which she nurtured at school and church; She later joined Watuha Secondary School where Nyambere wrapped up her studies and pursued her music calling thereafter.
Elizabeth Nyambere sought Joseph Kamaru, a young man from her neighboring ridge having tremendous success in music.
The two would link up in Nairobi and after Kamaru’s simple voice audition on Nyambere, he would absorb her into his band, Kamaru City Sounds where she performed along Kamaru and his ensemble.
Although Kamaru didn’t mentor her into gospel industry, he provided Elizabeth with a perfect launching pad to a music career of her dream.
Whilst at Kamaru’s band Nyambere would meet other of her mentors; Julia Lucy and Milkah Muthoni who frequented Kamaru’s studio and music shop.
With her euphonious, Nyambere also featured in other bands and artists including, Julius Irungu of Gakindu Boys Band, Wahome Wa Maingi, Jimmy Wayuni, Pius Kihingo among others.
She left behind a legacy in Kikuyu secular music sphere before Margaret Waitherero a young lass also from Kangema took up her role as Nyambere proceeded to another industry.

In 1983, Nyambere released her maiden record ‘Nyambatite Kirima’ and since then when on a recording spree of vinyl records and cassette albums.
In her formative years she recorded with her band; Nyam Gospel choir later Nyambeere Gospel Choir before going solo to a successful career dotted with many hit tracks that spans till today
